HI, if a phone works on WCDMA band will it work also on a network that supports HSDPA only. In the UK most mobile networks works with HSDPA software upgrade. The manufacturer of the phone sayz it will. I contacted support, specificly 3 network. They say it will not. It needs HSDPA. Is a way around it?Can I add hsdpa support to the phone myself or some sort of emulator?

I was taking a quick gander through the ETSI site, and I couldn't find much in terms of specifications on the frequencies of the two technologies, but it kind of sounded like HSDPA is a build up of WCDMA.
So... HSDPA is to WCDMA as 802.11n is to 802.11a

(I think)
