Hi,

I forward this issue here because no one can find the solution for this for a long time and we all have no idea how to fix it.
Album is slow, thumbnails are not created on sdcard - xda-developers

The HTC Albums is not able to generate thumbnails on microsd card that is larger than 2GB.

How to reproduce issue
1. use MicroSDHC that is larger than 2GB. (I have tried 4GB,8GB,16GB, all are the same)
2. put some images in the sdcard and open HTC Albums, now the program will generate the thumbnails files.
3. check the /sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails folder, it should contains the cache files almost equals the number of images files in the card
4. try remove the .thumbnails folder, and open the HTC albums app again.
5. in 1GB,2GB card, the thumbnails can be re-generated. but in 4GB+ card, the thumbnails folder was always empty..

What everyone have already tried
- clear albums app cache
- format sdcard
- try card with different class speed
- try make the partition in sdcard (the results is still 2GB partition worked, but larger does not work)
- hard reset hero
- not related to rooted Hero (because it happen on both rooted and non-rooted)
- ask HTC support. HTC support just answer simply they can't reproduce this issue and can't help anything.

the problem
If the Albums thumbnails file is not generated, every time you view the images, the Albums app will need to reload the images again and again. It's make the albums very slow and annoying.

This does not happen on 2GB card that come with Hero...

If anyone can help find the solution would be very appreciate.
Thank you very much.
