How can I change the boot up animation/boot down animation and splash screen on this phone to be that of HTC's boot animation and splash screen?

I found the HTC splash screen from google (http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/7132/splashcopy.png its 480 x 800) but I need to know how to put it to use

edit: Is there a no-root solution for this or does my phone need to be rooted for this to happen?

The boot animation is in your /system/media folder. The /system will need to be mounted as r/w if you want to change that file. That will require you to have root access.

Thanks! Would any boot animation work for this phone or would I need to make sure that it has to have certain standards for it to work on the phone? Also I'm assuming I just put the new boot animation in as bootanimation.zip? Is the boot down animation in the same folder as that one?

Also, what about the splash screen? Where would that be placed at?

Sorry for all the questions also :s

Using root explorer you can replace your bootanimation.zip with any you like. I personally used this one [Bootanimation] Droid Star Wars R2D2 - Removed logos, only R2 - WVGA - xda-developers and replaced my bootsound.mp3 file with an r2d2.mp3 that I renamed bootsound. It looks awesome. Heres an htc one Return to HTC bootanimation - xda-developers . And a black HTC one [Bootanimation] Retrograde Sensation+Black Htc+Beats boot animations all into one! - xda-developers

Have fun. Use root explorer its way easier.
Instructions here. http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-gt540/261469-change-your-boot-animation-d.html NOTE: the size we want is not 320x480 we want is 480x800
NOTE: Most of the bootanimations you download will need to be renamed bootanimation.zip (obvious I know) to work.
NOTE: Bootsound.mp3 is located at /system/media/audio/ui/

I actually like that one quite a lot. Hmm, what would be a good audio file to go along with that..

Also would the zte warp need the individual frames or does it take an animated gif such as the one I specified

That is nice but its a gif. If you open up a bootanimation.zip file you will find it is a series of png files. Good luck finding one you like. Found it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=785050
That ones black Heres a cool one called quietly rooted. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1005201
Ok here is all of the quietly brilliant boot animations. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=699259

Will the zte warp even take xml-based boot screens?

Also I would have probably used Super C to convert the animated gif to a bunch of frames then converted each one. Though if I did that and I wanted to use audio I'd probably have to make my own desc file..

edit: The one I like most is the one called "bootscreen_white_quietly_brilliant_signed" found in the 3rd link that you gave me. My only concern now is if the zte warp will take the xml-based boot screen

edit 2: what about changing the splash screen? how would I do that?

I didnt notice they were the xml versions. I doubt they would work.
With the bootanimation.zip the splash is included. Try that first one thats black just to test it out.

well... unfortunately.. atm my warp is in its clamshell package waiting to be opened on xmas day so I can't test it out now, but I'll try it out when I get it.

I think now all I need to do is learn how to write my own desc file and I'll be able to make my own custom boot animation :D
But.. how do I integrate the audio file in the bootanimation.zip and where do I place it at and how do I make sure it plays?

One more thing.. what about the power down animation? how do i install this?

    Bootsound.mp3 is located at /system/media/audio/ui
I'm not sure about power down animation. I don't know there is one.

One last thing. When I root the phone, and I plug it into the computer and use the "usb mass storage" mode, will I be able to see the /system folder on the computer or what?

Actually one *last* thing. When I make my zip file for the animation, is it directly flashable (like can I just directly move it to where I need to, replacing the original bootanimation.zip via root explorer) or will i need to push via adb?

edit: should the audio be named android_audio.mp3 or boot.mp3 for this device?

edit 2: I made my custom boot animation and attached it. I'll also upload the audio that goes along with it. Are you able to tell me what you think? :D

No you wont be able to see system. You will have to copy it to the sdcard then use root explorer on the phone to copy it from the sdcard to the /system/media/ folder. Yeah like in your second paragraph.
No on this device its named Bootsound.mp3 .
    I'll check it out later.

Well thank you so much for your help! :D I rly appreciate it.

Also the major reason I wanted you to test it out is to see if the audio and the animation synced because there is a subtle marker sound effect that plays when it "draws" the "quietly brilliant" text.. and well I just wanted to see if it just plain worked or not :p

o_O maybe you could record it and upload what it looks like? I just thought of that, might be a good idea

I have found out that I am not able to buy root explorer.. How am I able to push bootanimation.zip and bootsound.mp3 via adb?

I tried my boot animation, however every other frame glitches. I don't know weather its the framerate or what it could be. Should I try a lower rate? I uploaded a video of what it looks like:
