I've downloaded a few apps no problem. Now I get to the download screen and the bar stays still when us used to tyurn to indicate something is happening. I've turned off/on, taken the battery out etc. Next step is throwing it against a solid wall. Anyone know how to fix this?

Have you changed your gmail address? A bunch of people had this (and other related) problems after changing from googlemail to gmail extensions. The solution was something to do with clearing calendar data oddly enough.

Can you delete your google account and then re-add it? That would probably sought it out.

Do you have a low space warning in the notification bar? That would prevent you downloading any apps until it is resolved.

Try settings > applications > manage applications > calendar storage > clear data ... worked for me anyway.

For some reason that refreshes your Google profile, sorts out marketplace, and helps get your gmail refreshing nicely again.

You can't delete your account and start again without resetting the whole phone which is pretty lame.
