    Hi,

I have just swapped my b.b. for an HTC desire and I am having some problems seeting up my outook account which worked perfectly on the b.b.

I am receiving the reponse "your outgoing server does not support authentication. Please verify your outgoing server settings"....

Although I am receiving emails, I cannot send. The username, password and smtp server name are correct - the ones I use for my outlook anyway.

If I deselect Login Required I get "The email address is not valid, please verify your e-mail address"....

Completly baffled so if anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it! :)

I suspect your outgoing email server restricts email to people logged in to their service to prevent spammers. Hence you can send email from home but not your mobile.
I use an alternative outbound server through Vodaphone 360 which means I can send email whether using the home wireless network or when I'm out and about.

so maybe I could use a t-mobile server to send emails from the pop account? I will look into it...cheers :)

Sorted....now sending e-mails as well as receiving. Just used the t-mobile server as outgoing :)

Downloading 2.2 today! Hope it's problem free :)

My first of many stupid questions. What is the address for the T-mobile server as I have exactly the same problem?

Thanks for trying but no joy at all. Authentication failures all over the place
