If any of you have been interested in buying an HTC Evo Car Upgrade Kit, but were put off by the retail price of $60, I have found a deal for you. The Best Buy outlet is selling the HTC kits for a starting bid of $7.98 including shipping. They are "like new" which means they were returns from people who were not impressed with paying $60 for what is essentially a nice phone cradle.

But for less than $10, they make a very nice phone cradle.

Best Buy will not call these kits "HTC" because of the price. I waited until I received mine before I ordered two more. They are, in fact, the same HTC Evo Car Upgrade Kit that Sprint sells for $60. They even come in the HTC box with all the HTC labels. They are listed on eBay as:

Griffin Technology HTC EVO Mobile Phones Car Mount

An example of one for sale is here: Griffin Technology HTC EVO Mobile Phones Car Mount - eBay (item 310293267545 end time Feb-06-11 07:32:12 PST)

I am letting everyone know since I have purchased my three kits without anyone bidding against me. Hopefully, the bid prices will remain low, but it is still a deal for twice the bid!

    Good Luck.

Do you know if this will fit the EVO with Seidio or Chinese made 3500 extended batteries (had fatter back)?

No. unfortunately, I don't know of any case that will fit with the car dock.

I'm not big on suction mounts, but I do like the charger built into the mount aspect. Might pick one up for this price.

Seidio Docks fit both innocase active and extended battery cover cases. Not as "pretty" as the Sprint HTC dock but certainly works a lot better and has many more mounting options/positions. It also come with a cigarette/aux power adapter. I had both and I must say Seidio is better by far.

I currently have a car kit with suction in my car now but it really doesn't charge the phone too well... more like it maintains the charge I already have. For the price of this one, it would be wrong not to try it. Thanks.

Does this kit come with the actual charger? If not, and you're still using the same charger, then it will still just maintain the charge.

However, if it does come with the charger and cable, disregard :)

I bought the mount and it works perfectly in my 04' Denali. Someone mentioned a charger for it, mine did not have one, but I use my old original car one. I have noticed it almost never fully charges even after several hours, is there a charger for it which does recharge or not?
