I have a HTC incredible s that I bought in India.
Now i would like to use it in the USA on the at&t network(prepaid).
But when I try to use it, i don't get any network at all.
I checked the phone on t-mobile and that works.
Is this because of some region setting?
Any help would be invaluable.

Do you if the phone is SIM unlocked? That would be one reason why the AT&T prepaid SIM doesn't work. Also, since you bought it overseas, it probably does not have the 3G UTMS frequencies to work on the AT&T network, so the best you are going to get is 2G speeds.

It looks like the International version of the Incredible S lacks the required 850MHz frequency for 3G on AT&T's network.

Incredible S specs from gsmarena.com:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 900 / 2100 or HSDPA 900 / 1700 / 2100

AT&T Network frequencies:
850 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE 2G
1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE 2G
850 MHz UMTS/HSPA 3G
1900 MHz UMTS/HSPA 3G

I got AT&T's network frequencies off wikipedia so I'd check with them just to be sure.
