I love my inspire but i am looking forward to the sg2 release. The samsung amoled screen is just so nice. I really need to play with one in the store first to see how much I like touchwiz again as i wasn't too fond of it on my captivate. I really want the htc holiday but who knows when that will be released.

Edit: the inspire has had sideloading for a while now. And for those that had trouble getting the sideload update the gingerbread update includes this feature. However it isn't without its problems for some. I haven't had any troubles with the update but others have. So you might want to lookup the troubles that some are reporting with the inspire and gingerbread to see if you want to take the chance of having problems or being problem free with an inspire.

Thanks a lot for your response and i feel that the sg2 will be awesome its super thin and the screen is gorgeous i just dont know how much i want for my first smartphone and idk if i can squeeze the $200 it will prob end up being out of my parents for my bday, the htc holiday is another wait idk if i can do haha, and i think that htc sense 3.0 seems to be even to much for a dual core processor to handle it seems to have lag, so idk if im even fond of sense 3.0, i feel that the single core on the inspire is damn fast and almos comparable to some dual core processors out there... probably not the sg2's for that phone will be snappy as hell

Well best buy has the inspire for free so you could try it out and if by the time the sg2 is out you want to switch and fork out the cash return the inspire to best buy. I don't believe they charge a restocking fee like att does for returns

I switched from the Samsung Focus to the Inspire. I agree that the AMOLED Samsung screen is better but my first consideration for any phone is how well it works as a phone. The HTC phones (IMHO) have a better speaker in the ear piece and better volume than Samsung's. You can't go wrong with either however. Just another data point for you....

Very true, only problem is im a younger kid in a plan with my family so its not like when i get sick of a phone i can go off and buy a new one with my own money... when i get a phone im stuck with it for two years... so i feel like if im gonna get a phone it has to be top of the line when i get it idk how the inspires battery will hold up after two years, yeah i realize i can buy a new one and stuff but i just want to have a contending good phone as long as i can cause before you know it inspire will be knocked off the radar because of its single core

I hear what you're saying. But the truth is as soon as you buy it, it's obsolete. My advice would be to go to an Att store when they have the new Samsung and make a call or two on it and play with it some and then do the same thing with the Inspire. Also there's already a wealth of info on the Inspire on the web. Remember to not believe everything that you read from a forum. People will complain more than praise an item. If you read something bad, see if it's repeated elsewhere by a different user forming a trend so to speak. I hope that was clear.

Yeah i understand, so how long have you had your inspire and hows the batt life? do you use like juice defender and turn off stuff when your not using it and how long can you make it through the day, basically im used to a phone that can make it like three days (obviously not a smartphone) so i feel like if i cant make it at least a day i will be content.

I dont use juice defender and with tweaking things like screen brightness and using Widgetsoid to create toggles to turn things on/off like bluetooth, GPS wifi etc i get around 10hrs before I plug it in usually around 10% battery left at that point. And i consider myself a heavy user. Last month I sent/received around 10,000 texts just from my husband. Then checking emails, phandroid app, angry birds (i can't help myself), fb occasionally.

I agree with 2manyPHONES. You should be ok for a day of usage at least.

After getting the GB update, the Inspire has really good battery life. Of course, if you blast the screen brightness 100%, any phone will lose battery.

When I'm at work, I usually turn on airplane mode to save the battery so the phone isn't searching for a signal constantly. I can't answer my phone at work, so why bother having the connection on? I only keep the phone on to play some quick games if it is a slow day.

I purchased the Inspire4g when it came out for ATT then about 2 months ago I decided to try the Samsung SII. The SII lasted for about 3 weeks then I decided that I like the Inspire4g better. So I sold the SII on Ebay for about what I paid for it and now I am happy with the Inspire.

I did not like the slight lag with the SII. The inspire seems faster and more responsive. I like the feel of the inspire but I know that is more personal opinion. Nothing great with the SII ..I was expecting alot more but it did not do it for me.

What are you talking about? The SGII didn't even come out yet.

I just bought the inspire used. It's an excellent phone. I came from an Iphone 4. It's much faster and a lot better IMHO. If you can grab one for <$200 then I would do that and hold off until something better than the SGSII comes out. The SGS2 has been out for a while and there's bound to be something better around the corner...

If the 4.6" display rumor is true, I could not handle such a big phone on my pocket. 4.3" is the size for me

Yep me too. I had the Iphone4 since launch and the screen for me is way to small. I do like the typing better on the iphone though. Im waiting to see what the Iphone5 looks like and maybe I will try that for a while.

What I really want to see is an other HTC Inspire like phone but thinner and without the camera protruding out the back.

I played with the SGS2 at Sprint yesterday. Besides the nice design of the phone, and the slightly higher quality display, I didn't see any real improvement. If you stick a good ROM on an Inspire and overclock it you will probably not see a huge improvement with the SGS2. If you are all about gaming then that is where the difference my be seen. Battery life may be better in the SGS2...not sure though.

Personally I am waiting to see what the AT&T LTE phones are like before deciding on the SGS2 or not (currently have an Inspre 4G, which I like)

I'm not impressed with the Samsung line of phones yet, the Amoled screen just isn't enough for me to stop using my Inspire. Now that Samsung has hired Steve Kondik I'm looking forward to see what he can help them come up with.
