I have installed Gingervillain 1.1 rom on my desire which i much prefer over sense. The only thing i miss is the HTC keyboard, is it possible for me to get this?

The other HTC app im after is the HTC mail (not Gmail) as it has more options than the android one.

On the HTC mail, i could set retrival settings to 4 hrs where on the android one, the max is only 1 hour.

You can extract it from another rom, might work...

tried that but it says Aplication not installed.

It could be that it needs another apk file for it to work?

No idea, I use gmail.

You can't use Sense apps on non-Sense ROMs.
Though you can download HTC_IME mod from xda somewhere.

Just to answer this question for others,

You can make your own themed HTC IME Mod keyboard (I can ONLY use the HTC keyboard, I HATE all others) at Gimpsta.

Go to the high res kitchen (sign up, free, no emails or anything) and choose a froyo version (even for Gingerbread).

Side note, you also NEED to download clicker. This is the settings (calibration etc) part of the keyboard.

You can push these into the rom, but personally, I just have it constantly installed in data/app like any other app.

I have got the HTC keyboard from xda and it works great. The only thing is that the phone switches back to the android one when I restart the phone. Is there anyway to permanently keep the HTC keyboard on?

Move it to internal memory!
