Hey - im going a little test here..

i currently use the Gmail app with push...My battery is awful (i know i know......) and im thinking about going back to the HTC mail app and set it up to retrieve email every couple hours or so (email are not that important to me) to see if my battery is effected at all

But how in the world do you set it up so recieve notifications?
I want my trackball to light up or show something in my notification dock?
everything in the settings point to this working but nothing ever shows up?

Im not using the icon im using the widget so i d k what to do?

Mail app -> Menu -> More -> Settings -> Notification Settings -> Email notifications
Then your trackball should light up every time you get a message. Mine does.
