this is for those of you guys that have never modified your phone want to but dont know where to start because your on the latest 4.2.2 software
I am not responsible if you brick your phone.flash at your own risk!
if you feel confident read on.
1.Make sure usb debug is on and install drivers.install htc sync manager if you want an easy way to install drivers,uninstall htc sync manager after that and reboot phone and pc.
2.extract fastboot.zip in link provided to desktop make sure it goes into a folder named fastboot or whatever. Fastboot
3.in fastboot folder hold right shift and press right click and select open command prompt here.keep this window open for these next operations
4.Go to HTCDev.com and go to unlock bootloader.choose htc one from the list and follow all instructions it gives to get your unlock code bin file.put the bin file in your fastboot folder
5.download the latest twrp recovery for boost here: TWRP and put that image in fastboot folder as well.
6.in command prompt type these commands with your phone turned on
adb devices -it should detect your device.if so say adb reboot bootloader
once in fastboot type this:
fastboot devices -if it sees your device type fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
youll get a prompt on your phone to unlock,select yes unlock and itll reboot phone. adb bootloader to go back to fastboot mode
now type this:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img - this will flash your twrp.go into recovery from the bootloader menu and then reboot system from twrp.
itll ask to install supersu,accept it let phone boot up.
youll see a prompt to install supersu,select it connect to wifi and select twrp then let it boot into twrp.
itll flash the files then reboot you.congrats you have a rooted phone with unlocked bootloader
7.go to the play store and look for busybox.install app and pick the latest one they offer.you can delete app once it flashes busybox properly
8.(optional)S-Off:if you dont know what this is or afraid of the term dont do this option.your already set up as is.
if your a junkie like me and want full control of everything read on
go to rumrunner.us and download the rumrunner file for your pc system. extract anywhere and then open sujo.exe or whatever the filename is depending on what your running.
follow its instructions percisely and select yes for everything and let it do its thing.this can take 10 minutes or so be patient.once done you should be s-off(Note:It Will Fail if you didnt do what it asked or have an antivirus/firewall on that may block it,so disable for this program)
anything else you might want to know just ask as im cutting this guide off here.s-off is a powerful thing and i dont want to confuse people more. Hope this helps anyone that was stuck and confused.you now own this phone
