That's right the new htc one v is coming to metropcs and virgin mobile! I was so close to switching to a sensation but now im having second thoughts, that s4 snappy is sounding so tempting!

Edit; the v sucks I was thinking about the s

most likely the one metro will get the water down version as always
The one X has better Spec it's a quad core "4.7" Display

The only downside I see to the one S is screen size, that s4 runs circles around the one x's tegra 3 even if it has half the cores. Camera is also better on one x but the one on the s would do fine by me. As long as it doesn't have a metro tramp stamp all over the place, I could honestly see myself getting this phone, sense 4.0 is much less aggressive and I love htc builds

Best thing over esteem is that it has ICS.

This is a really cool phone and ICS not bad, I mean we dont like it because we all just spent somewhere near four hundred dollars for our phone and I think we have all come to the conclusion that it is most definitely worth the money, but maybe this is great for a parent or kid or... You know, someone with the wildfire or admire, haha

But it's not going to be LTE. Going to be another CDMA-only phone from the way the press reports are positioning it. Like an ICS Samsung Admire/HTC Wildfire.

No, I don't have inside info, but if it was going to be LTE they would have said so. Plus, all the other places it's going (Virgin) is not LTE.

Once I went from CDMA-only LG Optimus to LTE LG Esteem, I'm not going back.

metro must be negotiating still with htc for full specs difference with other no contract carriers.

I don't understand why they'd make a CDMA phone with ICS with a screen less than 4". It doesn't make sense at all. But I'm sure Metro is still finalizing that little deal they got going on.

Well ALL Android phones in the next few months will have ICS just like all Android phones now have Gingerbread. My Optimus (Nov 2010) had Froyo and my Esteem (Sept 2011) had Gingerbread. It's like you go buy a Windows computer and it has Windows 7, not Vista.

So, it will be ICS. No biggie. ICS doesn't depend on screen size. It's just the current version of Android. Just like all phones released recently have Gingerbread, regardless of size. My 4.3" Esteem has Gingerbread and the less-than-4" Samsung Admire and HTC Wildfire all have Gingerbread.

    ____

    Why a CDMA-only phone?

Metro must figure that there's some demand for less expensive CDMA-only phones -- maybe for teens or housewives who don't know better. After all, they are selling the Samsung Admire and HTC Wildfire, right?

    ____

Again, I have no inside info but until you hear otherwise assume CDMA-only.

single core, tiny screen, 800 resolution, camera, 720p, ram & internal storage not improved......
who knows if i've missed anything else, assuming LTE wouldn't be issue...

we should have ics on esteem by the time this would come out(or other better phone will be here or imminent...

who's gonna want to pay for such a phone when bigger screens, 1080p, quad-core, more ram and internal storage, better camera, etc. would be available?

In such a case, i'd rather buy another esteem-- or wait until something worthwhile did arrive.
Yeah, Metro won't get anything like first-gen... ...one generation behind is ok.... but not two.

Even the better One S, without sdcard slot would be a hard sell, esp. at expected premium price....

Yes we all agree the one v sucks, but the one s is probably going to be the best dual core phone around and it can definetly keep up with the tegra 3, honestly the only reason I appreciate the nvida cpus is because they are always ahead on the next big thing, but personally I like how qualcomm refined an already existing standard and the one s is the flagship of that

Hi, thanks so much for keeping us informed by starting this thread.

yOu know what concerns me? HTC purposely did away with sdcard slot for the other two models.
eVEN WORSE, the talk of the model coming to Metro is very preliminary....it'll take months to finally arrive-- and it's already so dated now...

I use my as card and it seems like oems are starting to move away from this, I don't really know how I feel about this yet, but yeah I was excited because I got the s and v mixed up, at least it will be an upgrade from the wildfire lol

It's like having a computer where you can't upgrade the hard disk to larger size, with no connections to add an external one either.
So now we're supposed to add/remove thru the cloud or another computer?
    WOW...
I'm hoping for a model with 1080p + better camera, plenty of ram & nfc / google wallet capable.

Yeah now that I think about it, it makes more sense. So maybe we'll be seeing more 3.5" screen phones but ICS is a big update. I just hope it helps speed up the CDMA phone processor. Imagine an ICS phone running at 800 mHz? That's when you know it's still 3G or 1x lol
my wish list: 4G, ICS, 1.2 or .5 GHz, and 4" screen the least. (crossing fingers)
