Help htc sensation and outgoing server talktalk

Hi

I am able to receive emails on my new phone but not send - outgoing server settings states for smtp.talktalk.net that your outgoing server does not support authentication. please verify your outgoing serer settings, I have been reading about this for the last two days and just want to check is the only way by either signing up to vodafone 360.com or gmail, and can anyone help me with this, please
