    Coming from the Desire would you guys get the HTC Sensation or the Samsung Galaxy S II? Please answer the poll and tell me the reason for your choice.

    Also do Samsungs generally tend to have better speakers, screens and CPUs then HTCs?

    Thanks!

    At the moment, it would be the samsung for me.

    It seems to have a better camera, is slimmer, performs better in benchmarks and is rootable. (all this could change of course)

    Also, I prefer a more stock look to sense these days. With the ability to root, I have much more choice. I eagerly await to see what HTC does regarding bootloaders.

    I personally would choose the sensation, because I do like HTC Sense, and feel that the Sensation does fix any complaints I have with the Desire. (internal memory, camera cover)

    I can't vote on either yet. I'm torn.

    I'm a HUGE HTC fanboy, and I love the look and build quality of the Sensation. However the wi-fi death grip issue concerns me, and I'm not that bothered about sense. I also want one that's rootable

    I think the SGS2 is a better phone hardware wise, and like its mentioned above, you can root the SGS2. But in my eyes, the SGS2 looks shit compared to the sensation.

    So like I said, I'm torn.

    If I was upgrading, I would go for SGS2. Sensation is too massive and loses in hardware specs to Samsung. Rooting and custom ROMs should not be an issue for SGS2 either, since Samsung even supports it (they gave Cyanogen a free sample of SGS2).

    I really do love HTC and I do like the Sensation but I think for a few reasons I would have to go with the SGSII

    Ooo this is a toughie! I am a massive HTC fan and I love the way its built but I would be heavily influenced by having a phone with a good rooting backing so at this present moment Samsung gets the edge over the HTC for me.

    I'd have to go for the SGSII because of rooting etc and also I just love the super AMOLED plus screen.

    I'd much prefer to buy HTC because of the good build quality and looks but after the Desire anything other than an AMOLED screen would be a disappointment and I like sense. I'm hanging on to see if HTC come up with something better; the screen is crucial to me...fortunately I still love the Desire.
    The SGS2 is the better phone but it feels cheap and flimsy and I don't like the look of it at all.

    True, this is the problem with HTC these days they are great build quality and looks which I love but the screens are all S-LCD. Samsung on the other hand have amazing screens but their build quality is not as good and they have other issues that bug me.

    Regardless though, I think they are both outstanding devices and would be perfectly happy with either.

    The big draws of the HTC are Sense and perhaps the superior build quality.
    The big draws of the SGS2 are the more stock look, rooting and the screen, plus lots of internal memory.

    To be honest though, I don't think the rooting has really taken off on the SGS2. There are only 1/2 custom roms etc.

    If you are an HTC fan boy, you might as well stick to it. I don't think it is necessarily worse than the SGS2, just different. It excels in other areas. Which are most important to you?

    Yeah I agree, I do love HTC, i mean I chose the Desire over the Galaxy S, and I just love HTC build quality but I do love the SGSII screen and that it preforms better in benchmarks. I do love HTC so i would probably go for that but I really love the SGSII as well and cant help thinking its better lol.

    What do you guys think I should do? I am seriously thinking of getting a SGSII / Sensation...

    I love the Galaxy S II but I also love a lot about HTCs however out of the 2 I would get the SGS II because its just a better phone. So, Should I get a SGSII now and then also get the best phone in a years time which may be HTC or should I just keep my Desire for another year and get the best phone in 2012 by which time HTC may improve. What do you think?? I'm really stuck on what to do :(

    The choices are personal.
    I can upgrade if I want to, but I don't see the need. Desire is still going strong.
    Besides, advising on upgrading to a specific model can change every month. Right now, I think SGS2 is looking quite good, but who knows what will the situation be next month?

    Mate, you really need to consider what is most important in a phone to you.

    Number them here 1-10.. ? That should narrow it down a bit.

    IS that in order, so phone call quality is most important?

    If so....

    1. Tied
    2. HTC
    3. Samsung
    4. Tied
    5. Samsung
    6. Samsung
    7. Samsung
    8. Tied
    9. Depends if you like Sense - Tied

    Tied = 4
    HTC = 1/2
    Samsung = 4

    I think the decision rests with you now :p

    The Atrix is just as powerful and up to date hardware wise and with the dual core CPU etc. The problem with it (in some peoples opinion) is that despite it being dual core, the phone feels incredibly slow. And that is because of motorola's sense equivilant, Blur, which slows the whole phone down.

    Not being funny, is that really an issue.
    I've had nokias, HTC's, iPhones, Blackberrys and Sony Ericsson's and I have never once been dissatisfied with call quality. As such, I don't even think about it. At

    If you are not keen on the best hardware for playing games, or taking photos, you should probably stick to your desire. Apps-wise there isn't much on the market that would necessitate a dual-core phone. Just wait it out, a better phone is goin to be out anyway, what with the current state of competition.
    Plus you get to check your materialistic urges. Nothing better than self-discipline! :p

    I'm a huge HTC fan so I would say get the Sensation. I love HTC Sense even though I'm running vanilla Android, but that's only because Sense is sluggish on the Desire :p I'm guessing the Sensation doesn't have that problem!

    I prefer the look of the Sensation and also the software. Touchwiz is hideous.
