no one knows anything other than it is being delayed. I honestly doubt the reps will know what the update includes other than what the pdf said. It is delayed, may be it will be gingerbread because htc is already releasing gingerbread for other phones. Who knows but i highly doubt it.

    here is what i got:

Leslie: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
Trevor: hello i got a htc thunderbolt a couple weeks ago. there was suppost to be a software update yesterday but i never got it
Leslie: Please hold on while I check that information.
Leslie: According to the information that I am seeing about that update, it has been temporarily put on hold. You can look under the Support tab in your MyVerizon account for more information about that and also when it can be expected to be available for you.
Trevor: ok is that due to the fact that it will be gingerbread?
Leslie: I am not seeing any definite explanation as to why it was put on hold. I do not think that is the reason, because the update to a few other systems has been put on hold as well.
Trevor: is there any reason why it has been put on hold?
Leslie: I do not see a reason listed. Just that is has been put on hold and that there is more information available to you in your account. Are you logged into your MyVerizon account now?
    Trevor: yes
Leslie: Click on the Support tab and it should bring up more information about the delay of the update.
Trevor: then device and software update?
    Leslie: Yes.
Trevor: there is just a pdf file which has been released prior to the announcement of the update
Leslie: That is all the information that is available about the update. Did you read that file before the update announcement?
Trevor: yes. so when you told me to look there i figured there would be information that is relevant
Leslie: I do apologize that there is not more information available about that for you. Is there anything else I can assist you with?
Trevor: no thats it thank you

Verizon seems so screwy with their communications that I no longer believe anything they say until I see it.

Well, it would make a strange kind sense because HTC is releasing Gingerbread for it's other similar phones. The only question would be how long Verizon would slow down it's passage directly from HTC to us.

Oh boy here we come again full circle. Bothering chat agents for info....

Guys, the update may have been put on hold for any myriad of reasons...but one reason is NOT Gingerbread. They have already listed what will be in this update on their site. They are not about to change that.

Gingerbread will not be seen till late 3rd Quarter early 4th Quarter. It has already been said by Verizon/HTC when the TB came out.

I've spoken with three reps in the past hour. None of them have seen a delay notification for the update.

My guess is the delay is due to the leaked versions causing system reboots.

I think this is the same representative that claimed the 4G outage last week was due to them reprogramming the system for the Samsung Charge which was supposed to launch the following day.

So now, the day after they tweet that the tbolt update is starting to be pushed out they decide to stop and delay the push so they can add Gingerbread.

Ummm... come on now. If Gingerbread was that close to being ready for the bolt don't you think they would have worked it into the update BEFORE they announced it would start being pushed out? lol... no need for an answer. Its self explanatory.

Anyways, whatever the delay is I hope they get their chit together and give us some fixes. If not, they need to learn how to keep these announcements from being made prior to them being 100% ready for release. It just results in frustration and confusion from their customers.

I'm not saying that this update will have Gingerbread, but they did say Q2. More specifically, by the end of June. Here is a source

I realize most of these Verizon reps are techno-flunks, but here is my two cents:

I called up Verizon during the 4G outage because at the time I did not realize it was a nation wide issue. I asked the rep when the new firmware update would be pushed out. She stated she didn't know. I then asked her when Gingerbread will be pushed out. She stated she was not allowed to say, but it would be very soon.

I personally am not holding my breath. I'll get it, when I get it.

Me too. I think it just runs more effeciently? Maybe using less battery or something? I know there are cosmetic differences - like the keyboard and stuff. But none of that really excites me. I'd rather have the GPS and Video sound fixes now then wait another few weeks/months for gingerbread.

Not trying to add to the speculation but I was on Twitter and HTC was patting their self on the back and saying thanks everybody about being in the top 5 most wanted products on AmazonWireless's site. So I tweeted back at both of them and told them you're welcome but a better way to thank me would be a little Gingerbread for my T-Bolt and AmazonWireless came back with "Haha, well hopefully it's soon, all the news reports say Gingerbread for T-bolt should be out any time now." Now understand that Amazon Wireless said this and HTC did not come back with any reply what so ever.

That's the same information I've been reading in various forums for a month now also. Where did they say it would be Q3 or Q4 for Gingerbread?
