Hi, the other day I was at my cousin's house. It was raining & I had to cycle.

So, I cycled home. Once I was home I realized the phone's screen would not light up and only the "Home", "Menu", "Back" and "Search" buttons would work.

Any help to fix this would be much appreciated.

    - Greig.

EDIT: I'm suspecting it's water damage. The phone is sitting in a tub of rice at the moment.

Better place the phone in a clip-sealed plastic bag with uncooked rice. Otherwise it will just soak up moist from surrounding air.

Another user of this forum had a simular issue. The rice trick worked for him. I really hope it works for you too!

I'm planning on leaving the phone in a bag of rice for around 24 hours. Would I be better off to leave it for longer? Thanks a lot for the advice, I really hope it works, as I've not had it that long and it's the best thing I've ever bought :p

I would try after 24 hrs. If it still won't work, you can always continue the drying process.

Best of luck and keep us informed.

Slight success! The screen randomly turned on when I was checking it out.

The screen was flashing a little. So I put it back in rice for it to dry off even more.

Hopefully this will FULLY dry it out.

    Thanks for the help :)

Okay, the phone will only light up if I press the against the screen pretty firmly at the bottom left of it. Any solutions for this?

I could either: Send it to HTC to be repaired. Or buy a new phone :D

    Hey

Im the guy who had a problem with water in my phone.
The rice trick helped but water did permanent damage to my phone.

Good luck with your decision, i would suggest buying a new phone, a better android e.g. HTC Desire S or better yet HTC Sensation
