So, I have been developing for 15 years and I never would have thought of holding down VOL -, inserting the USB AND Holding down the POWER BUTTON.... EVER EVER EVER. Thank YOU so much for coming up with that moment of clarity, I want to kiss your mother on the cheek and shake you fathers hand. What a ****ing kid they got!! Fortunately I found your post AND downloaded a package titled 'CWM 5.0.2.7 written by ZAD' that had all the batch commands to reboot, adb install, framework install - so once I got into CWM from your neat little trick all I had to do was clear cache, install the rom AND reboot the phone using the batch file from Windows (becuase it would not reboot and I was not going do a battery pull after the drama I had.

    Here's to you.
    DC:)

My phone is stuck in a loop. It shows the android riding a skateboard and then it goes back to UHuawei screen, back and forth. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

Is there a way to network unlock this phone other than pay someone else to do it? I managed to root it but no luck unlocking it.

Had to register to pass this along for those caught in a BOOT LOOP- BE SURE TO CLEAR DATA!!!!!!!
Fixed it for me. Vol- and power would NOT get the console to appear. (Did at first) ****Vol+ and power did.****
    Then WIPE data/factory reset
    WIPE Cache partition
WIPE Dalvik cache- To get there GO TO ADVANCED TO SEE IT!!!!!

Then I reinstalled from SD and it worked.
    WIFI not working so far-
Then to spend days reloading stuff and tweaking-----

Edit- wifi is ok- I have access list set up in my router, the new ROM had changed the MAC address.

--Still can not get mobile data to work or even find any setting for it- no ATT stuff was included.
--When the phone is off, recovery console loads if plugged in to charge ot hooked to USB.

I was successful, eventually, with the instructions as described in the initial post. It wasn't intuitive exactly. The first try did not wipe/delete, because did not notice those options were within the "instalador" menus, so was still low on space. I've now tested 4 different ROMs and like this one best.

Also had problems with the initial boot freezing (with this mod, the best one, in particular). When that happened just went back through the "instalador" recovery again. Quickly learned that is the restart point when anything goes wrong.

Now I have all of the apps I want and still 40MB phone storage available. Also the option to move more apps to SD card, if necessary. Apps that could not be moved before can now. I'm content leaving everything on the phone... there's plenty of room!

Also had an issue with Google Play Store not automatically upgrading from Market with one of the mods. Not certain if that was because I tried a new google account in that instance, rather than my primary one, or something else. Regardless, now know the APK to install Play manually is available everywhere.

I really like this rom too. It has the minimum OS (no flashy wallpapers, bells or whistles), 2.3.7, to start building from, but does include the mentioned FM radio. The headphones also work properly with phone/music (with another CM7 ROM they did not!)

Again, I missed a lot of steps hurrying through... initially did not even copy the ROM to SD prior running "instalmod"... I'd read so many different instructions from various sources my head was spinning. Everything needed is right here though. Thank you! -- neppie

PS/Some other things you might like to do is sync phone contacts with a mail account an an effective back up of numbers, and make sure your WEP key is handy.

PPS/Was pleasantly surprised the SD card was *not* wiped in this process, my music was still in place.

I can't get to SuperOneClick. As soon as I push Run as administrator, it says it has stopped working.
I also tried UnlockRoot and OneClickRoot. They say that they are unable to find the device but I have USB debugging enabled (it even shows on the phone USB debugging connected)
I know this is an old thread but I am hoping someone can help me.

Okay so I have had CM7 on my fusion for a while now, rooting the phone and flashing the new ROM I had no issues what so ever, everything went super smoothly, as I expected it would... until I received my first phone call, that's when I realized that my speaker sounds like its blown after about half volume and up. I didn't have this problem on the stock ROM as I listened to music and such regularly, (the sound quality and volume levels were surprisingly good for a 100 dollar phone) and was doing so 5 min before flashing CM7. As soon as the new ROM was operational, this issue seemed to come out of no where... I've read on a few blogs that this may be due to the enhanced audio features of this ROM, but no advice on how to fix it, so any advice as to how I can fix this would be greatly appreciated, as the decent sound quality on the fusion was part of the reason I decided to keep this phone and mod it... Thanks.

Hi everyone, I just joined and just started reading this thread, I have a Consumer Cellular Huawei U8652 with Gingerbread 2.3.6 and have tried just about everything to no avail thus far to root, can anyone help? I will pour through this thread in the meantime with some hope to get my phone rooted, thanks in advance for any assistance.

I've tried with SuperOneClick v2.3.3 method quoted by the OP but always seems to hang at Step#7.

UnlockRoot 2.3 doesn't work worth a lick either says "Failed to get shell root!"

What kind of voodoo magic is required to get superoneclick2.3.3 working with this phone, obviously I must have some setting wrong, really need some help here , very frustrated!

Hi, thanks for responding but as I mentioned above, SuperOneClick & UnlockRoot do not work, Kingo same thing it fails. Now I haven't tried Saferoot yet, is there a specific version for the U8652? I have rooted my current Samsung Galaxy S4 Active quite successfully with saferoot over at XDA.

I did try back when I was still new at rooting a method that was originally for the Fusion 2 8660 phone below:

    http://androidforums.com/fusion-2-a...-step-root-walkthrough-huawei-fusion-2-a.html

I was hopeful that it would work for my U8652 but of course it did not for obvious reasons, and in the process got stuck in fastboot mode to where if I turned off the phone and plugged the charger in it would go into fastboot mode, and also I can no longer do a factory reset...does nothing but otherwise the phone operates as normal.

One question though, how do you "reboot" this phone? There is only off, airplane and silent modes

This thread below is the EXACT same issue I'm having:

    http://androidforums.com/sonic-all-...i-fusion-u8652-wont-reboot-into-recovery.html

  18. I will look more up on this for you
