I just joined. Something I rarely do is jump at getting new technology but for some reason I made an exception for the Android. I've been using computers since before there was a www so adjusting settings, making downloads, and tweaking system settings aren't new to me.

I'm using an old but sturdy IBM T42 which generally does whatever I need it to. Apparently it's drawn the line at installing the ADB driver.

At this point I don't know if it's the age of the hardware (I installed PDAnet without a problem on a newer laptop), or the software, or the Android model (Huawei).

    Any other Huawei owners aboard?

Installing ADB drivers can sometimes be unnecessarily challenging. As an alternative you can try loading the app "ADB Wireless" on your phone and accessing it wirelessly (if you have a home wireless network).
