I have a Asus tablet version 172, and I love it. I just got all I need out of the Microsoft office type app and love that. My problem is I would love to be able to use it as a phone. I tried text plus and that was not good, my mic on phone is garble. I then tried Skype and that was ok except my mic and speaker levels were low. My question is do you think a headset would work for me and second do they make a headset with amps for mics and speakers

I am assuming you used Skype without a headset and an attached mic. Try Skype again with whatever headset, etc. you have available. The lack of the external speakers feeding sound back into the mic may make all the difference. Then again, you may need to adjust the settings also.

Overall, I recommend trying various less expensive headsets first, before you look for anything that can boost your levels.

    Definitely use a headset.

I like Talkatone and Groove IP for this purpose over Skype and such.
