i am not able to configure my gmail from my android

dear all
i have associated my gmail account to my wife's first android mobile,now i am not able to configure the same to my phone which is also android it always says wrong password or user name please help

Welcome, is that original email a default email account on another phone, also be careful from signing too many times if you did enter an improper password it will lock you out. Try logging in from a PC and make sure you are able to log in, then try setting up the email account to the phone, and make sure you are entering the account name and password correctly, as it is case sensitive.
