Help I. Can't. Charge. Via. USB. On. Computer!!!

I can connect my phone to the computer and it connects fine for USB mass storage device, but I can't make it charge with the computer. I have tried fiddling with the settings and I can't make it work.

Can you charge by plugging into the wall? Are you using the original charger/cable?

I have tried two different cables. One is purely a USB cable (and is the original), it connects to the computer for mass storage fine; but not charging. There is a separate cord that is purely for wall outlets. It charges fine. Then there is another one that fits my phone. It connects to the computer fine for mass storage, but doesn't charge. It comes with an adapter to turn it into a charger for wall outlets. It charges fine when I plug it into the wall.

It doesn't seem to be the cable at all.

Quick question, Do you have to charge from the laptop?

Usually, that is the least desirable way to charge. I understand if you have to but just have to ask.
