I cant figure out why my T95Z Android TV Streaming box is offering me Apps designed for phones

I have another brand box that set up perfectly with the same apps, however with the T95Z Plus that I received yesterday the apps in the Google Play store all seem to be those designed for phones. Is there a setting that I may have chosen that makes it think this, or could it be that this box has the mobile OS instead of TV OS. Is there a way to check? All I can tell is it is running version 7.1.2 Thanks.

Any device that runs Android is able to download any app from the play store, be it phone, box, or tablet.
Weather or not it will work on each device is another issue.
