Root I can't open the boot loader

I've tried several times, but nothing seems to work. when ever I put adb reboot bootloader into the promt, it says it is an invalid file path... any suggestions?

Are you right clicking on adb and selecting run as administrator?

Type adb devices. Anything come up?

Another way to access bootloader is hold down volume, then press the power button.

If doing it manually doesn't work then return that shit and get a different phone
