Was laying on couch with sun coming through window with screen turned off and saw the dots@

Question. Why are they a problem? In order to see them you have to have the screen off and a bright light source reflecting off the screen.

Complaining about them seems about as ridiculous as me complaining that my engine ONLY sounds good when my car is cranked. (And do not go all pedantic on me by breaking down the analogy. The important point is that its a ridiculous complaint. Not my specific analogy).

I couldn't care less about the dots at all. In fact, I kinda like to see stuff like that. Like a watch where you can see the gears. I want a clear phone! :D

Lol they aren't a problem there are just some ridiculous people who want to find something to hate on this phone to justify getting that pos atrix

I agree with the dots being a dumb reason to complain for, but Andrea.

The Atrix is not a POS, it's one of the first dual-core smartphones and has a 960 x 540 screen resolution. That alone is enough to make people want it so bad, but the build quality is less than desirable for me. Plasticy and very fragile feeling.

Yes sure but being the first dual core means nothing when the cores are being under utilized in a locked down plasticky mess. Also the display has been having many issues with the pentile matrix and the rendering of apps

I'm interested in these issues with the Atrix, were the apps just plain not loading at all?

What about the display is going wrong?

If I recall correctly the apps would render incorrectly. Distorted etc and the pentile matrix is having the same issues as other pentile matrix screens slight burn in and pixelated images also some apps won't load at all because they aren't optimized for the dual core

I just discovered a troll in the Inspire forums....

Hey look, we BOTH discovered something!

Sarcasm aside do a search and you will find two other threads BASHING the phone over these "dots'.

However NEITHER of those two threads EXPlAINED why this was actually a problem at all! It was mostly bickering over 1) if they exsisted and 2) if the people complaining were just trying to create a brou ha ha where none exsisted...or were just being pedantic etc.

Well i found them..ok so fair enough.

What i wanted to know was WHY it was an issue. Rather than getting involved in all the idiotic back and forth about the "ifs" and "your complaining too much"...i wanted a STRAIGHT FORWARD ..answer...

"Why is this (the dots) a problem for people?"

If you can't just participate on topic without behaving like a sarcastic re-**** you do not have to read the thread. Just excuse yourself to another and move on.

I saw them at the AT&T store but I keep looking now and I seriously can't find them anymore haha, maybe it's just the wrong lighting....

Hahaha I did that too. I saw them inside walking down a hallway when the screen was off. Honestly my first impression was 'oh cool', not 'i need to return this phone'. I didn't even know about them until then. I then spent the next 15 minutes trying to find them again - unsuccessfully.

Yeah I was walking outside yesterday and I locked my phone so it went dark and then I saw them...It's a lot easier to see in direct sunlight :

I can c dots but who cares !! On a more serious note the display really sucks in the sun. Its almost impossiable to read the screen in the sun I hate it. I have no issues with the inspire at all but the screen issue in the sun is a big issue and I may have to exchange the phone and go back to iphone 4..

My analogy is it's like complaining that you don't like the looks of your car's instrument panel when the ignition's off. Um, okay.
