Help I have 1.37 GB of internal storage but can't install anything

I have a Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S) running Froyo. My internal phone storage is 1.37 GB. This is not the SD card space available but the internal phone storage. I cannot install any app as it tells me I don't have enough space. I have over 1 GB, I think I have enough.

I've searched and searched and cannot find anyone with quite this issue. I did try moving a bunch of apps to the SD card but that had no effect.

Any ideas on what could be the problem?

Uninstall one large app and try to install Quick System Info. Then post the results here.

If you are trying to install the apps from Market, it is also possible that the system cache is full. Go to Settings - Applications - Manage Applications, then select Market and clear cache and data. Restart the phone and try to install things again.

I was able to install Quick System Info. Nothing there jumps out as out of whack. Anything in particular I should report? I did clear the Market cache earlier and restated. It's 2 AM where I am. I'll fiddle with this more in the morning. Thanks for the help.

In Quick System Info, the interesting parts are Internal Storage and System Cache (Total/free). You should always have enough free space there (at least 20MB).

Internal storage
Total: 1.87 GB, Free: 1.32 GB

System cache
Total: 30.07 MB, Free: 30.06 MB

Is it possible my internal storage is corrupt?
