I have been reading and searching about loading roms. I found so much I'm completely confused.

I read to use Odin, then there were some other 3 letters packages to use.

But I still cannot understand how to load roms and how to recover when I brick my phone.

I did load the 893 update and I have not rooted yet.

I know there must be many ways to load and mange roms, but does any have a simple guide to do so?

thanks for any help. I know I'm not the only one out there that's confused.

First you need to root to load any custom rom. Then you need to download bootstrap for bionic app, rom manager and install. Run bootstrap app. Pick first button hit ok when it says successful, then boot into recovery and make a back up. When that is done reboot your phone. Download your choice of roms and save to the sdcard-ext, I recommend theory roms. Boot into recovery using bootstrap or rom manager. Then follow the developers instructions on how to install. It is usually wipe cache, wipe dalvick, and format system then install from zip
