Take a look at the bottom 4 function keys when the screen is off in total darkness they glow.
Really? Mine do not seem to.
My first Evo had glowing keys, but my new one doesn't. Interesting.
Yea that's pretty weird. Guess that was part of the hardware changes that they have made
It is light leakage plain and simple.
How would it be light leakage if it was in total darkness, with the screen off?
I have a 003 and it the bottom glows from time to time, but it's almost random...
Mine glow (002)
002 no glo
Its kinda a pointless feature if it was intended. Knowing where those keys are with the screen off does nothing for you not like you can turn the screen on with any of them. They should have made the power key glow.
mine has a glow too
Guys, guys, the glow (4 keys lighting up at bottom of screen)) is based on ambient light in the room. If you go into a dark room or cover the phone you'll see what I'm talking about.
But it should NOT be happening when the phone is asleep, else it is crazy light leakage if it is is.
Yep have it on in sleep mode then go into a dark closet or room you will see the bottom 4 keys still dimly lit and using power. If you look down tword the buttons from the screen side in the dark you will see 4 points of light.
Take your phone back to Sprint/Best Buy/Radio Shack and get another.
now what happens if you got the phone from Google I/O
I would go to a Sprint store or Authorized Retailer still. In fact, I think all of the Google I/O phones are HW001 and have a LOT of issues (or will).
do you need 14 threads about this?
where do i checkt he HW number? behind the battery?
pix or it didnt happen
my google phone is HW002
Its called glass separation if you have light leakage you have glass separation and should return immediately before it gets worst just like mine in the pictures below.
Man ARR22...I have not seen one with light leakage. I am glad you posted these I had no idea it was that bad. I had assumed it was just a minor thing...that is crazy. Although sticking a Blockbuster membership card in the separation probably didn't help...LOL.
wow I didn't know what you guys were talking about either, I always thought the light leakage was near the screen, not the bottom of the phone. That would piss me off too.
