I got it as a free upgrade. 2 weeks ago people were on its balls now everybody talks about how much I sucks. I am running bh man's 1.5 stock busy box no touch whiz. I like it. more apps would be nice but... The phone works. I have had a few touch screens and this one Is by far the best. (of all the phones I've had) Try a worthless blackberry storm if you wanna complain about a sorry phone that a company doesn't care about. The b2 ain't that bad I mean come on can you remember the t mobile wing or ATT tilt those phones sucked no matter what Rom was on it. the storm 1 nothing but problems from the very beginning. I know they ain't androids but my point is that there is phones out there that suck exponentially more than the b2 ever could. give it some time the pressure is on Samsung. hopefully they will upgrade us but if not there is nothing we can really do. Sammy is gonna make money either way. take the phone for what it is an entry level android phone. I read reviews for days before I got mine and none of them said this was the very best android phone out there. in fact they all said that the phone wasn't all that great. I think its ok and bh man made it even better. sorry for our luck I hope I works out

I'm glad you like your phone. Technically, from a hardware standpoint, it probably is one of the best 1st gen phones out there!
The phone really had a lot of potential, it's just the software that is holding it back. Being stuck at 1.5 (or 1.6) while the hardware is certainly capable of running 2.1 or even 2.2 just blows.
Furthermore, many of us bought this phone with the understanding that we would eventually receive a 2.x upgrade. Thus you can understand the anger and frustration.

It does blow hard. I know. I have been waiting too. I am not the one for patience. all I do is think about how bad that storm sucked when I had it till I smashed it in a wal mart parking lot. I wouldn't do that to this phone. at least this one stays on and is usable
The stock phone software does suck in my mind. BH_MAN made it a very nice phone with his Roms, we are not denying that. But there is only so much he can do with what he has available to work with.
what could done as far as further development with what we have? I upgraded from a t mobile dash running a 3volution Windows 6.5 Rom that I believe came out in late 09, 3 years after the phone. It works extremely well. With further development does anyone think that maybe (hopefully in a lot less than three years) something like 2.0 could run on top of 1.6? Like how manufacturers run their software on top of other software?
this is nearly impossible due to the fact samsung refuses to release the full kernal source
Numerous bugs could be fixed if Samsung released the full source to the kernel + drivers.
Futhermore, the community could upgrade the phone to 2.x too (if the sources were avail).
Well for me, I'm still tryin to decide if I like android. I really don't know. I think im spoiled from using my iphone too much. Oh and by the way, somebody has just ported over a working version of android to the iphone. Hooray! Its true lougle it. Lol. Anyway I hope google and samsung improve on this whole os business. It really sucks not havin the most up to date stuff.
lol, iphone isnt lame. I'd say that iphone and android are almost equal and im here in an Android Forum because i have an Android phone not because iphone is lame. Plus Open Source is the SHiznit to an extent. Im surprised we're not running this place like the GP2X or GP2x Wiz forums. I Hope we get there tho.
Iphones are overrated IMO. Cool device, not as cool as everyone makes it out to be. I would rather stick with my ipod and android phone. The Iphone just got a bunch of people to purchase it from the get-go.
Yeah its lame or overrated you choose. Not even an updated OS can make it better than android. iPod Touch iPhone iPad are all the same tired ass look and not many differentiating features between them.
