I need a decent phone for the Verizon network

I've been using an iPhone for I don't remember how long. But I'm ready to come back to android. The problem is... I only have a droid X2... it's like the red headed step child of the droid family. And honestly, it's insanely unstable. I had to factory reset my phone literally 500 miles from home. And that was just unacceptable in my eyes.

I need a reliable droid device. I don't need it to be current gen. And I plan to buy used. Can anyone recommend a reliable android device for Verizon? Hopefully for around 150-200 dollars?

I have moved this thread into the Verizon forum so that those who are acquanted with VZW phones can read and post here, to help you make the right choice.

I personally have great reception and very reliable service with my SGS3 on VZW.
I am sure that it also depends on your location, as well as several other factors that might figure into which phone in their current linup might be most reliable for you.

With a two year plan or upgrade, you can get the Droid Razr M for like $49.99...I wish I could figure a way to get it but I'm just now at 1 yr left on my plan. I'm not elgible for an upgrade until around August.

I've been using the Droid Bionic since the day it was released 15 months ago). After the upgrade to ICS it has been rock solid.

If my contact was up today I would go with the Razr Maxx HD in an instant.

The best reception is ANYTHING Motorola.

I am about to make the switch to Verizon myself and I was looking at the SGIII. But I am looking for a phone with good dev support as I am going to root it later. haha.
I think the SGIII is $200 w/contract?

D'oh! Well, ultimately, it is not my choice where to go to get the phone as it is work issued. The shop I work at will need about 12 phones all at once but I will suggest to bossman about what price is where.

That is a good price tho! Too bad it's too late here to go get it if I wanted it for myself
