Below is the meat of what I get using Dirrk's EZ Root v0.2.

The root files seem to be working until the very end. Everything appears fine until the mount operation.

I've tried with the SD card mounted, not mounted, and even with the SD card out of the phone. ARGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

    What am I missing?

I've been using SuperOneClick found here. It's worked for me many times. Just make sure you have the drivers for the phone installed and make sure that USB Debugging is enabled.
