I had about 10 minutes with the bionic at CES.

Hardware looks pretty good. Not pretty like the iphone but ok.
A little thicker that my incredible.
The current UI build is very buggy to the point of crashing. I was warned by the Moto rep about this before using the phone.

This would be a lock for my next phone if the UI was solid.

The hardware im sure as is with most people the main attraction of this phone, being one of the first major releases from a major phone manufacturer to use the Tegra 2, but at least they have about almost 3 months or so to work out the UI bugs.

Yep. I luv my gTablet, but it has taken until now to get "near gold" Tegra drivers. Three months seems like good time to fix things up for phones. Earlier devices will probably run into break fix updates on a normal basis ;)

Tegra 2 drivers impact almost everything- not just graphics as they are normally linked to for PC's.

I definitely want this phone more then any other currently available or might be available between now and the release of this phone. I cant imagine anything better coming out on Verizon (not interested in the iPhone if it is indeed announced tomorrow) so this is my front runner as I see it. And definitely interested in the Xoom, I was holding out for the iPad 2 since it will probably be released around the same time as the Xoom if all evidence/rumors are correct. But I do like Android more then iOS, just hoping Google can keep this momentum going and further develop the tablet Honeycomb 3.0 UI to be an fluid and almost instantaneous as the current iPad cause im sure Apple isn't sitting on there butt's to let Google take all this fame and glory with Honeycomb.

When the droid bionic has a solid UI it will easily rival the thunderbolt.

    Xoom tablet is crazy nice.

I recommend the Hanvon win7 tablet if you was a windows tablet. Cost is 899 and is works perfectly. I put it through its paces for over 20 minutes and it performed as well as my galaxy tab.

How is the higher rez screen? Can you tell the difference between 840x480?

So, does it dock like the Atrix? My company just did a demo of the Atrix docking setup and it ran Windows 7 perfectly, through our Citrix Receiver client, which Atrix is shipping with. It really runs 1080p video well from that little phone. It is so nice that the video is a true video output to monitors, unlike that rip off we got from the Evo's crippled HDMI.

Umm...sorry, but it's going to crush the thunderbolt. The thunderbolt is running a single core processor, which at this point seems odd when the competition is releasing dual core processor phones.

Cool avatar man, I love that series and of course the actor playing Spartacus, too bad he isn't in the new season.

Give it as many cores as you want. If the UI is crap the phone is crap.

I crashed the phone while playing with it. Do you think is crashed faster because it had 2 cores?

The Bionic DOES NOT offer the same features as the Atrix at this point. Not saying they can't make them.

Atrix is the phone to beat at this point. Sad to think that awesome phone will land on such a crappy network.

It is disheartening that they're not just diff names for diff networks. I don't understand what Verizon is doing here (or if AT&T had this on lockdown). 1GHz of RAM, Webtop, launching in a month WITH Gingerbread, and apparently a more stable UI? How could Verizon allow them to have the superior Android device? The allure of the iPhone?

At&T needs an amazing showing with android right now. Atrix
Verizon is going to ride the iphone cash cow for a while.

I would not be surprised if at&t and verizon sat down and agreed to allow iphone on verizon if at&t gets first shot at all amazing android phones.

If the Atrix had 4G, then I'd jump over to that one, but since it wont, I'll go with the Bionic. I also live in a 4G market, so I'm pretty happy about that.

The Atrix has 4G, it is just not on Verizon.

If this would have been two years ago, I might could have understood. But Verizon and the Droid line is a big reason why Android as a whole has flourished. I'm sure the iPhone will draw some users over to it, but if anything, it's probably most likely to draw Apple fanboys over to a decent network. Android is really gaining ground on iOS, I just don't see why you don't dance with the one who brought you.

But I could see a backroom meeting happening to make that kind of a deal. But I doubt Apple will get first shot at the best Androids, but I def see this making them a bigger player. If they don't lockdown the Atrix the way they have other Android devices in the past.

  18. Funny thing is, Bionic was only running one core and UI was not finished at CES. Of course it was going to crash. Besides, if no locked bootloader, ports can fix a crappy UI.
