    Hi All.

I am using adb to put my phone into recovery as I need to change some settings (my power button has stopped working so I cannot unlock my phone).

However, as soon as I run adb reboot recovery (which the phone does), the device goes offline and the boot loads up the phone with a red triangle with ! in it.

I then cannot run any adb commands because the phone is offline according to it.

I am assuming the recovery boot didn't load properly.

I have searched but couldn't find anything this specific. Anyone have any tips as to what's going on?

That triangle is part of the HTC recovery, not custom recovery. You press vol up and power at that point (which you casnt do) however it doesnt matter as HTC recovery doesnt support ADB.

You say you rooted? How? Looks like which ever method you used, didnt replace the recovery. Please supply me as much detail as possible.

I plug my phone in. ADB recognises it as online.

I then run command adb.exe reboot recovery

the phone then restarts at which point the phone triangle ! logo appears.

    ADB then says device offline

    -----

I am trying to do these instructions ([HOWTO] Assign other buttons to show unlock screen - xda-developers)

    Windows:
    adb-nilezon shell mount /system
    adb-nilezon pull /system/usr/keylayout/bravo-keypad.kl c:\
    edit bravo-keypad.kl to your liking
    adb-nilezon push c:\bravo-keypad.kl /system/usr/keylayout/bravo-keypad.kl
    adb-nilezon shell reboot

In order to change the unlock button.

    -------

    This is my CMD

    C:\Users\Lokolo\Documents\Android SDK\platform-tools>adb.exe get-state
    device

    C:\Users\Lokolo\Documents\Android SDK\platform-tools>adb.exe reboot recovery

    (phone restarts)

    C:\Users\Lokolo\Documents\Android SDK\platform-tools>adb.exe shell mount /system

    error: device offline

    ----

I then cannot run any adb commands are device is offline.

    Thanks.

Thanks but not interested in the commands. Just would like answers to my questions please, namely, what method did you use to root your phone?
