My phone is rooted and was wondering will I be able to get the official OTA update of Android 2.2(Froyo)? I have not installed any ROMs or kernels yet.

You'll lose your root. Just download one of the dozens of 2.2 roms floating around.

Oh alright. But if I downloaded the official OTA update will I still be able to use the unrEVOked method of rooting the phone with 2.2?

No one knows yet until the OFFICIAL OTA hits, right now 2.2 (leaked) is able to be rooted but we wont know if it will until its sent over the air.

well if you go by the evo release NO you will not be able to root.
you also will NOT be able to go back to 2.1.
(at least not any time soon)

best bet is to never flash an ota unless rooting and options are not important to you.

we will have a rooted version of the ota probably within hours of release though. so don't worry about that.
