can i disable the 3g?? i only want it for wifi in my house???? or should i go with the nook color??

Yes you can use only wifi if you would like to. Don't get a nook unless you want do a lot of hacking to get into a "some what" tablet state. You'll save money on a nook, but lose out on few things as well. Really comes down to what you "need" out your tablet, and what your comfort level is with custom roms, and rooting.

I just got the Gxly Tab. I was considering the NookColor, but decided I wanted the bells and whistles of a full Tab. If you are a light user and comfortable with a little hacking, I would say go with the NC. I really only got my Tab because I got a good price on Craigslist.

And you do not have to activate 3G on the tab if you buy it out of contract.
