Before getting my Captivate, I read about problems with them and came across a GPS issue from last year. Many posts indicated a fix in August or September. But my new Captivate, less than 3 weeks in my hands, has a completely non-working GPS. What gives?

is there a fix I have to manually do? I've checked for updates, and there are none.

Do I have a bad phone? It doesn't have the shutdown problem, and aside from being picky about connecting to wifi, works beautifully.

Did you get it at an ATT store? I'd be returning it like yesterday if it has a totally non working gps

Is there any way the AT&T store can copy my phone's contents to a new phone? Like you can copy one PC's exact drive contents to another ? (Ghostcopy?)

I sure don't look forward to having to re-set up all my stuff.

Use Titanium Backup and back it up to an external SD card, or copy the folder it creates on the internal SD to your PC.
