OK I got chrome when I rooted a few months back and checked out for 5 mins thought it was OK. So I started using it again last week and oh man do I wanna blow this off my phone and right to the moon. I use chrome for computer and its blazingly fast well lets say the mobile version blows lol. My problems consist of the following.

1) extremely slow load up times my default browser is actually faster.
2) when I type into a box the keyboard fills the whole damn screen not allowing me to see what I'm writing. Default leaves me with half the screen to see what I'm doing.
3) it says it can't install the themes don't know why just says it can't install it.

I can just keep using my default browser but I like he lay out of chrome and the tabbed pages any help uld be awesome.

You're on the Samsung Galaxy SIII right? I guess I don't know about the mod you're running, but with stock JB Chrome is awesome with load up times and the keyboard doesn't take up the whole screen (in landscape mode it does, not portrait).

Nah galaxy prevail running chrome 2.26 on ctmod 3.6 and kouma kournel. I was thinking it was the process speed and memory but like I said my default is never slow like how chrome is right now. And he's ur right this only does that when in landscape but it really pisses me off

AFAIK, that's standard for the OS, unless you have a slide out keyboard. I've been on this platform for a few years on a few phones and haven't seen that behavior change, or any indication that it will in the future.

try Dolphin Mini. i am not sure why but Chrome seems slower than the stock browser, and also has none of the features of the desktop version, aka, no access to apps in the web store, and it looks like the first version of Chrome on a desktop, including the unstable issue where tabs go all sad Mac on you.

The stock browser on 4.0 and up is leaps better than it was prior. But I really like synching chrome up between my laptop/desktop/mobile.. so thats mainly why I use it. The speed has never been a hinderance to me.

Dolphin Mini was my go to browser before Chrome and occasionally I will fall back to it.

the stock browser sucked on ICS for me, as well as any version prior to it. it was version 4.1 before it seemed to fix that. but Dolphin Mini still seems faster to load pages up. perhaps it's just my hardware? Firefox, Opera, Chrome, stock, all are so slow. i could browse faster on dial-up the way they drag on.

Dolphin Mini is the only suitable Android replacement for those spoiled by iOS's Safari browser. i guess had i never had an iPad first i would never notice but still...

L I agree but I love my prevail and I don't plan on upgrading in the near future. Ill give that one a go but I don't think its compatible with my version of android

if it is compatible with old Android Eclair and Jelly Bean, unless you are using the very first Android copy (Cupcake) you should be fine. i think the requirements are Android 2.1 and higher. i'm not paying an iPad price for an Android tablet either.
