i want to upgrade my android version for samsung gt i5503 from 2.1 to 4.0

Assuming there's an upgrade file (or a series to go from one step to the next, up to 4.0), a device designed to run 2.1 will probably give new meaning to the word "slow" if you put 4.0 on it. It would be like putting aviation fuel in a Model T Ford and expecting 0-60 in 3 seconds.
