Maybe Google should apply for a patent on the slide down notification center and stick it to Apple.

Here is a thought for a new splash screen. give it a forsted look so that you can't really see your desktop below it. add the widegets that run on the splash screen and add something that looks like a knob on the center. to open it do the reverse pinch (zoom out) gesture on the screen, and let the screen split in two and open like an animated window into your phone. no slide lock and it is two fingered, so no patent dispute.

at the same time Google should apply to have apples patent unvalidated.
