It mentioned 2gb memory, i thought Galaxy S has 8 or 16gb of memory

That 2gb, 8gb, 16gb, is just whatever microSD card is pre-installed. I'm more likely to get rid of whatever they install and replace it with my own class 6 card for the speed.

=KLRS=ZERO has posted a link to some blogspam that's actually quite useful in pointing out the full dump of apps from the i897, including several AT&T apps. The best part, though, is if you follow the XDA link, in which the OP states the phone will arrive in July...

Your links seem to be broken but how does he know it's july?

My bad - fixed the links. He doesn't say how/why he knows. But he also refers to the i897 as the "Vegas." Interesting.

*Edit - I see you've posted the same question over there as well ;)

The linked posts refer to this has having AMOLED display, instead of Super AMOLED. Maybe it's just not quoted right. But I'll pass if it is not the same display as the Galaxy S. That display is the only factor that would have me consider other than an HTC.

Yeah, saw that. This story says Super AMOLED, though, so I'm guessing it's a misquote.

At least we're starting to see the thing. I'm a little curious though, AT&T branded, but the text on the icons is Chinese?

Hrm... that last image w/the Korean text was added after I'd found that story this morning. No idea if they're from the same source but it's odd that the photo was added later... It does show the AT&T maps app, though... weird.

Its strange that its rumored to have a Snapdragon rather than the Hummingbird? Especially considering how much more power effienct the Hummingbird is.

I really doubt they'd swap hardware platforms this late in the game. That is, unless this actually isn't the Galaxy S...

I doubt Samsung who is incredibly vertically integrated will use a Qualcomm CPU in one of their premiere phones.

This version looks more "blacked out" than the other Galaxy S models I seen so far. Maybe it's just the lighting, but I like it. :D

With a little research anyone can tell that the galaxy S wont have snap dragon, it will cost samsung more money to use a SLOWER and MORE POWER HUNGRY cpu, they already have cheaper and faster in-house CPU. switching to snapdragon would cripple the galaxy S and cost samsung a LOT of money.

Thank goodness we can put this thread to rest. It was clear from the beginning that that i897 is/was NOT the Galaxy S.

Even though it isn't one of the words in the song, the name reminds me of "Mediate" by INXS. :)

Why do you say that? Because AT&T may have chosen to call it something else?

Did you look at the pictures of the phone? Nothing looks like a galaxy s. The specs, including the CPU are different. This is not the same phone.

You're making the assumption that the rumors are correct.

Right. & I went back & compared the photos posted @ AndroidGuys (above), to the hands-on videos flooding YouTube.... The power button on the side is the same, the volume rocker on the other side is the same, & the 3.5mm jack & micro USB on top are also the same.
