This may be a stupid question but I can't figure it out...

I'm running LauncherPro Plus and have been trying out various icon packs. What I'd like to do is replace some individual application icons with ones from the icon pack. Is there a simple way to do this? That is, can the individual icons be extracted from an icon pack?

    Thanks for any help.

If they are going to be on the desktop you can use desktop visualizer.

If you make a backup of the apk file (use astro) a copy will be located in /sdcard/backups/apps or something close to that. Use astro to browse the apk file. Now navigate to the folder named res. Look for the folder named "Drawable-hdpi" you will want to long press on it, then choose edit, copy and you can now place that somewhere else on the SD card to use the png files elsewhere.

I think you have the mytouch 4G if so the hdpi folder is the one you will use.

If you are wanting to use one theme and edit some of the icons in it you would need to be able to sign the apk before it will install, that takes a lot more effort.

PERFECT! I had no idea it was this straight forward.

I used ES to extract them from the .APK and it worked, too.

    Thanks!

Yeah any file explorer should work. Astro is my goto non-root file explorer so I knew the commands for it ;)
