Help Icons at top of screen - change color?

I thought I remembered seeing a post about how to change the change the color of the blue system icons at the top of the screen... is this possible in any way... rooting I assume?

Yes if you root there are themes available that will change the color of your status bar icons. However, from my experience with SAMOLED, the colors were thought of with purpose not just ICS aesthetics. AMOLED will cause image retention and/or burn-in over time just like PDP TV's (plasma). Higher contrast aka brighter whites against a darker background only increases this effect. Hence the blue clock, signal, battery, and the gray notification icons. This is of my opinion and of my quasi-professional experience
