Icons rearranged in a row - HELP

Dear All,

the apps has now rearranged in my icon matrix, so instead of the original 4x4 icon matrix now I got an icon row with 69 icons. I tried to rearragne the icons in menu/arrangement by alphabetical or most recent used apps. The rearrangement has been done but the row format remained the same.
has anyone experience or any idea how to reset the original icon matrix?
