Well, so far so good for me with the ICS update. I didn't feel like waiting for the actual OTA, so I just did the manual update. :) But, so far, battery life is good, LED notifications are functioning, and all seems well. My only gripe really is that all of my contacts have lost their pictures, unless of course they have a google+ account, or I have it stored on the phone itself. I wish FB would just play nice with Google. Then I wouldn't lose so many contact pics. :|

EDIT: Would also like to add that the data roaming warning is ridiculous. I get it on other carriers, but this SPRINT. There is NO ROAMING FEE. Please stop warning me. I hope there will be a minor bug fix update sometime in the near future to make that stupid warning GO AWAY. Lol!

Ok...so I was still getting battery drain...99%-89% in an hour. I turned off wifi, and turned on 3G only. Over an hour and no drain at all. Honestly, I have no idea what the deal is other than something going on with wifi. Weird.

I am trying to load the ICS update through the sd card after rebooting the phone through the menu (not sure what its called, but the screen when you hold pwr + vol up) and it keeps saying E: signature verification failed. I reloaded the file a couple times after downloading the official update from the youtube video of QBKing77 who many people are using and not having issues. Can anyone help get around this? I've already hard reset the phone and tried a new download of the file but still have the same issue and can't seem to find a reason for the error. Also, tried several SD cards and used a completely blank card that i formatted before loading the file. HELP PLEASE!!

Oh, sorry. I checked and saw a variety of robotto fonts, and figured one of them was yours.

To quote Adam Savage: "THERE's your problem!" I don't know the fix though. Do you know what's using the CPU so hard?

Bummer. I feel bad saying this, but I'm past 49 hours, closing in on 50 and my battery is at 53%. I've been averaging <1% battery consumption per hour.

I did the same thing and i'm seeing the same results you are... It still says my os is running at 47 percent and i'm barely using the phone..... The awake time is at 1 hour 35 mins. but wifi was def draining the battery which is weird because before i updated to ICS having the wifi on could save my battery....

Does anybody know how I can prevent the phone from automatically mounting when I plug it into a computer via usb?

So, do you remember all the discussion last year about ics taking advantage of our duel cores better than gingerbread? So I don't notice any speed enhancements.......do you?

i feel like my phone is snappier since the upgrade. i didn't notice any battery differences. i wonder if it has to do with which launcher people are using. i don't see that coming up here.

After the ICS upgrade, Navigation is schizophrenic. The voice will change accents (sometimes in mid-sentence). Every now and then she doesn't speak the street name and will just say "turn right". Not really a problem, but wondering if others have seen this.

I too am having the same problem with battery drain. Before the upgrade, I was doing fine there for a while... I found out the phone did actually better without the battery juice saver apps... I tried Juice defender and Easy battery saver a while ago, but they did not work very good... for me...so I uninstalled them...

However, my battery life has deteriorated since the upgrade, I just downloaded downloaded Battery defender yesterday, and today it seems my battery is doing well.. for now anyway, (I have not used my phone too much today yet...)

I been paying close attention to my battery. I've known this to be a challenge for Android phones for a while... I wish the SGS2 would have one of those extra juice batteries that other phones seem to be able to have...
Can you please tell me if there is a longer lasting battery in the market or tell me about those two batteries you go? Please explain about the low/high cycle as I am a battery dummy. Thank you...

If I do a factory reset, will I also have to upgrade to ICS again?

    Thank you all...

I got the ICS 4.0.4 update Saturday morning 07/14 and I've not seen any issue with the battery. Here are some issues I've noticed:

I was using the Samsung keyboard and that appears to be gone. The new keyboard while a different layout allows me to type much more quickly so I guess I'll take it.

Main menu is different, no biggie but it seems utilitarian without the old icons.

The emoticons are all different looking and you can't see them clearly, before you had some color to them.

Can't see my contact list from the phone any longer, I can still go to contacts but that sucks.

Notifications seem to be different, getting my normal sound and then a short ring a few seconds later.

Face recognition to unlock the phone is too slow. Takes 4 or 5 seconds at times.

I've not had time to investigate any of these issues so there may be simple fixes but I'd thought I'd share what I've seen thus far.

Not trying to beat a dead horse, but it is definitely the wifi for me. If anyone knows a fix, that would be great. If not, I'll keep looking as someone will come up with something.

When people talk about wifi, do they mean leaving wifi turned on even if you aren't connected to a wifi network? Or do you mean your battery drains faster when you are connected to a wifi network?

we mean just keeping wifi on when in the wifi zone and shutting it off when we aren't in the zone.

OK, that jives with what I am seeing. I unplugged my phone from the car charger when I got home this evening (I don't remember what percentage it was when I unplugged it). The Android OS seems to be keeping it awake a lot.
