This is the only thing I miss about my old BlackBerry. My corporate exchange server is 2003 and nothing on Android seems to support the out of office function on something that old. Touchdown by NitroDesk can handle the out of office but not on 2003 or older (from what I understand).

What version of exchange server are you on? If later than 2003, you may have options available to you. Touchdown by Nitro Desk is a pretty nice app and can handle Out Of Office but it depends on the version of the exchange server your company is running.

Is it coming?? Why would there not be an option for it? Anyone hear of any updates? This is so frustrating.

No word on if it is coming or not (that I know of), but it is because that feature is not part of "vanilla" Android (Android as Google/AOSP writes it). Some manufacturers have added it into their custom overlays (additional features & customized UI) of Android (such as "Sense" or "Blur" or "TouchWiz"), and with Google's acquisition of Motorola Mobility there might be some additional exchange functionality that Moto has worked on for Blur in the AOSP code, but it is unlikely because of the (likely) licensing fees that would have to be paid to Microsoft for the framework (Google is supposedly going to keep Moto as an autonomous company, so Moto will likely still pay for that for Blur's sake).

I know this isn't the answer you are looking for, but at the very least if you are unable to access your outlook from a pc you can always log into exchange webmail from your phone and set your out of office from there. That's what I do if I forget to set my out of office....I agree BB was great in supporting these types of features.

There are other apps that can handle the out of office settings depending on what version Exchange server you are running.

My company is on Exchange 2003 and nothing works with that version.
