Would like to do a factory reset so my phone can start acting normal again. I have a few questions:

Will I lose data like pictures and videos on my sd card?
    Will I lose root?
I have my backup pro, what does it all save when I do a restore from it?

You won't lose root either. It just wipes the data that was saved on the phone's internal memory.

Factory reset wipes the internal memory, so I will lose all my apps that can't be moved over to the sd card?

Yes but app data remains on the sdcard. Get yourself the app called Titanium Backup its a godsend to the root crowd who frequently wipes data. You can backup and then restore any app and its data.
