I want to root but want to make sure that my apps don't lose any info cuz my phone is now my record keeper. When I root what do I need to do to wireless tether and is this the same as wireless hotspot. Thanks in advance.

Your apps are sync'd to your google account which means you won't lose anything. If you want to take extra measures that you can download a backup app and store the information on your SD card or with there servers depending on your app. Backing up is something to always do no matter what. Depending on the ROM you chose will depend on if it automatically comes with the wired and/or wireless tethering. And as far as I understand they are the same for all intensive purposes wireless tether and wireless hotspot.

You will have to download your app again, but you won't have to pay for it again.

I think your information should remain if it's stored on the SD card.

Make sure you get a backup program (I use Titanium Backup but there's also MyBackup Pro). When you root you wont lose the a ility to download your paid app again, but you will lose the data associated with that app unless the app stores its data on the SD card. Bottom line is that you absolutely can't go wrong by making a backup.

You will love rooting and all the custom roms and overclocking available.
