It's weird...

Before the EVO came out, Sprint had the Hero priced down to $79.99. When the EVO quickly sold out, the Hero went back up to $149.99 because they knew some people wouldn't want to wait for the Evo and take the Hero by default.

Once the Evo came back in stock, the Hero not only went back down to $79.99, they were offering refurbished models for that price with a zero contract extension and no discounts applied. This meant that if you get the phone, you can easily turn around and pick another with $150 discount that renews your contract.

Anyway, I thought that was it... the sign of a sunset product. But you know what? The refurbed models sold out rather quickly. And now there's apparently more new inventory available. The Hero is back up to $149.99!

So at first I thought the nail was in the coffin... but now it seems that's not true. Yes, Sprint won't go the extra mile to put the Hero on 2.2, but there are still frequent updates being made to 2.1. That's a good thing for us Hero owners. :)
