IF you brick.....?

    Does that mean your droid is completely un-useable and need to go to your carriers' store for a reset? or are you able to reset via a backup/reset to defaults option? thinking about rooting, but unsure right now..

    I think the term "brick" means that's all it would be, a brick. If you brick your phone, there's no going back - That's usually the worst case scenario though.

    The word brick gets thrown around rather heavily and its true definition is your phone is dead unless you know how to use JTAG procedures. The "bricks" you've heard about on here and other sites aren't true bricks, they can be fixed by using ADB and flashing a recovery image that will let you apply a new ROM. The only way to truly brick your phone is to flash a bad SPL/Radio (which aren't out for the DROID) or to be messing around with the different partitions which you wouldn't be doing. So if you want to root for a reason, go ahead. If your doing it to be cool or because everyone else is, don't bother.
