Any ideas of a change log?

I'm still running h8 as i dont think there has been any point in upgrading yet. And from what i've been reading, my h8 seems to be one of the least buggy firmwares out! There's only one thing im waiting for a fix for - the 3d rendering (and redundancy of dedicated lock key)! Then i'll upgrade.

Which CSC do you have? To find out, go to the dialpad and type *#*#44663#*#*

That came with *#1234#, that 44663 didn't bring anything up.

I also have firmware I7500XXII8 and CSC I7500XEEII4. The Galaxy was only released just last week in Sweden (where I live) so I guess we got the latest firmware as a bonus or something.

Hmm I guess they have various release builds internally, and they flash the latest stable before it leaves the factory. I'm sure if there were major changes it would get pushed to NPS soon.

We're more likely to get a J firmware through NPS shortly i suspect.

Does Samsung have any kind of release schedule or is it more a case of "find bug, fix bug, release firmware"?

All I know is that Samsung should have a more unified update process to cause us less headache.

Sounds stupid to me that: UK ii4 cause CSC, ITA ii5 cause CSC... why doesn't they release a firmware for everyone forgetting CSC?

The reason they do it like that is becuase the network operators approve the firmware versions that can go out to their handsets via NPS.

Yes but what sense does it have a free / unlocked phone as mine and having a FOP CSC?

Note: Seems that FOP is general unbranded for spain

Even though it is an unlocked I believe that it still comes with a region specific CSC. To find out what CSC you currently have use the Dialer application and type this in *#44336#*

If you want the latest firmware the best way to go is to use Odin to flash the latest firmware without the CSC. This of course would mean that you wouldn't be able to upgrade using NPS. But if you did want to go back you still have the option to flash back to an older firmware and the CSC along with it.

I'm waiting to be able to use nps but i really do not understand why samsung does it so complicated. All i know is that my CSC has the APN settings for operators in spain

I'm getting fed up with Samsung and their chaotic support (none), probably going custom or swapping to a hero...

Ok if anyone is willing to take a nandroid image of their II8 phone please let me know or pm me :)

I can talk you through it over MSN if you like. You'll have to wipe your phone tho, and set it up again afterwards.

What he intended was not to distribute user data that's in the dbdata, data and userdata imgs. You don't need to send those. What's important is boot and system so no wiping is required.
