I know this is stupid, but I cant find anything about doing a manual update for 2.3 gingerbread. I have a original Motorola droid, any suggestions??:(

No it's not out, it's not even guaranteed that it will come to the original droid. The closest thing that's out for a droid is the ROM UD 2.5 for the rooted droid. It's not 2.3 but it has a theme of gingerbread and the keyboard.

Cyanogen and a few others probably will take care of it

The SDK has been released though, at least.

AOSP is supposed to drop once the Nexus S is released. Hopefully BD and Cyanogen will get some toasty goodness for the OG.

Unfortunately that's just the source for the Nexus S kernel; we're still waiting for the source for the entire OS. I believe they said today that it will be hitting AOSP shortly after the Nexus S is released (tomorrow), so hopefully we'll be seeing it in the next week or so.

Yep, the source code hasn't been released yet, but they released the SDK a little early so that devs have time to update their apps and make them Gingerbread-friendly. Expect ROMs within a week of the source being released. Probably not from Cyanogen, though, since he likes to work on longer-term, stabler releases. Though they did just release 6.1. Maybe it's time for 7.0 already!

I'm predicting the first Droid 2.3 Source ROM by the end of.....tomorrow night?
